In reading The Prosperity Dimension, at first I found it odd to see content repeated in several different ways in each chapter. First a single panel or two of the comic on the chapter's title page, then the full comic for the chapter, then the story text that fleshes out the detail of the comic, and finally a summary page that discusses the business practices highlighted in the chapter. It's like peeling open an onion, layer by layer, with the repetition emphasizing the lesson again and again for better memory retention.When I met the author, she explained to me that the book is also designed to facilitate learning by using a variety of different sensorial teaching modes ... written text, visual comic art sections, and even smell triggers, for example. That plus the repetition really do make for stronger retention of the lesson in each chapter, compared to a dry textbook.

The Prosperity Dimension A Small Biz Sci-Fi Adventure is engaging and fun to read. Ms. Fende's approach to teaching business concepts keeps one turning the page, wanting more - because you don't feel like you're reading a business book. And this story has a strong female lead - which is unusual, and VERY welcome. Strong characters, valuable business lessons, and an engaging story - all complimented with superb illustrations!
Being a Sci-Fi aficionado myself, I really appreciate how Nicole combined her love of finance and Sci-Fi to give valuable lessons. The book explains topics, such as Analyzing Bottom Line Benefits, Benefits Beyond Money, and Understanding the Opportunity Cost in an easy, fun way. I recommend this book to people who need help with finance, but want an entertaining story as well.
When Nicole first presented the idea for this book to me, I wasn't sure what to think, but the minute I got my hands on an early beta version of Chapter One? I was sold! The characters and story line pulled me right in and I started clamoring for each new chapter faster than she could write them. By the time we were Phlox hunting, I was a real fan. The artwork is a great match for the story, and nothing feels artificial or forced about the hybrid graphic novel/biz book mashup. The "lessons" flow surprisingly naturally. My only question is when do we get book #2 ?!

The Prosperity Dimension is one of those books as a business owner and entrepreneur that is always within my finger tips. It's a fun read and it's filled with real practical guidance. Nicole has truly outdone herself in combining a graphic novel, science fiction and brilliance business strategy together in one out of this world book. I'm a visual person so I exceptionally loved the fun illustration summaries at the end of each chapter. Well done.
Found this gem at a trade show. A fun and entertaining way to learn business concepts. The beautifully illustrated graphic novel shares amazing insights into running a business. Hooked me with the characters right away and the story kept me engaged throughout. A great asset to anyone's learning library.
Nicole Fende's The Prosperity Dimension A Small Biz Sci-Fi Adventure is a unique book combining a graphic novel with a fun story that engages readers of all ages. Nicole happens to be a math and business whiz and an avid sci-fi enthusiast who effectively combines all of her passions and talents in this debut novel. Andrea Montano excels as the illustrator, taking the reader through the story with wonderfully colorful renditions of the characters and events. I gave this book to my granddaughter and her boyfriend, both of whom are budding artists and who want to co-author a graphic novel. Can't wait for the sequel, Nicole! I want to find out Brenna Rain's next great adventure!
