I came as close as I've ever come to not finishing a book at the 7% mark, and I seldom set a book aside before finishing it. There was no sign that this book was more polished than a first draft. There were incomplete, meaningless sentences, missing words, extraneous words, continuity problems, and a lack of logical behavior on the part of most of the characters. The author kept flipping between different tenses. This author joins scads of other writers in thinking that women are attracted to men by visual cues. Either the men are body builder types or are seen naked or both. This author goes for the latter approach. She finds ridiculous ways to place the H in front of the h with little or nothing on. Then she builds lust upon lust. The H has just been having sex with some random woman and less than 5 minutes later is kissing the h. In what world would a normal woman find that appealing, honorable, or sexy? In what world would a 26 year old woman who has 3 broken engagements, the last one physically abusive, wouldn't find a self-described man-whore sexy especially when he shows no boundaries either? In my world a man with a terrific personality is sexy, regardless of his body or wealth. Likewise, she is presented as very plain looking with only hair, makeup, and expensive clothing to make her at all appealing, but magically she is a flawless incredible beauty to the H, even without makeup and fancy clothes. Even allowing for differences in tastes, this is hard to buy into.
The book did finally come together, the typos and editing issues less frequent and the plot somewhat less predictable. I managed to finish it an even enjoyed it a bit beyond the train-wreck aspect. But the author has the H give the h complete clarity over fundamental lifelong struggles in a sentence or two and she returns the favor for him later. Their life stories are shared in just a few moments while the H leaves his bar business unattended. But at least the author tried to give them a backstory and life struggles.
All sex shared between the two is unprotected sex with no regard for the great number of partners they cumulatively had sex with no concern about STDs or family planning. Irresponsibility and lust rule in this book.
I've read books written by an author who has learned English as an adult with more typos, and I've read books that have no character to the characters nor plot, but there are a lot of better books out there. Although the author repeatedly offered the next book in the series for free, I'll pass on the offer.

Unconditional A Beachwood Bay Love Story Book 6 edition by Melody Grace Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I read the first five books of Beachwood Bay series and I was captivated by them but book six is by far my favorite now.. Carina and Garret are two broken souls that found each other and healed their broken heart. This book has laughter, joy, passion, support, healing, forgiveness and second chances. Must read!!!!
loved this book like I have the others. In this book you get to know Carina and why Her relationship with Juliet is not that great. Im glad that Garrett and Carina with all the baggage they had from there past was able to work through it and be together and it also help repair the damage that was done to her and Juliet's relationship so they can get back to being sisters like they was when they was kids. And Garrett was good dealing with her dad when he tried to take be back to Alexander. In the end im glad they was both able to admit that they loved each other and to become a family with a lil Garrett on the way. Cant wait for the next one, sucks have to wait til July though but it be good
This series is by far one of the best I've read yet, it's so easy to fall into these characters. Their pasts, hardships and triumphs. Unconditional is a great addition to this series.
I've gotta say when I first started reading this one it wasn't really what I expected. Since We knew Garrett was a soldier I thought this book was going to center around that in some way. When it didn't I was slightly disappointed, in the end though I'm very happy with how this book turned out. I don't want to give things away but I want to add that while it was hard for me to like Carina at first her strength in the end really turned my feelings around for her. After reading about Dex I can't wait for his book!
Read this one!
This title is part of the Beachwood Bay series. Carina finally got the strength to leave a relationship she knew was not loving and not right. She moves back to beachwood bay unbeknownst to her sister. This story deals with forgiveness physical abuse and past trauma. A wonderful quick story of second chances and giving love a chance again.
I have read some of the books in this series, and liked this book. Carina has an abusive fiancee, verbal and now physical. She runs away to her childhood home, and there she encounters Garret. Sparks fly between them but neither can deny their attraction. Like the flow of the story and unexpected twists. I recommend it.
Another amazing story by Melody Grace, the Beachwood Bay books never get old or repetitive. I loved that this was not only the story of Garrett and Carina, it was also the story of Garrett become a better man and Carina finding her voice.
Carina wants perfection; however, once she has it, she starts to question everything in her life. She soon realizes that perfection isn't all that its cracked up to be and escapes to the one sanctuary that she knows of, Beachwood Bay. However, upon arrival she immediately encounters Garrett and we all know that there is tension thick as pea soup laying between them. They butt heads, there personalities are so similar and they don't even realize it. Eventually their broken hearts form a whole and they are able to find a sanctuary in each other.
If you enjoy yelling at your characters through your , giggling at silly moments, and tearing up at happy endings, this a must read for you!
I truly considered skipping this one because I didn't like Carina in the last novel (or the first two). But I decided to at least give it one or two chapters.
Honestly? Best book in the first six of this series. Carina is running from a bad relationship, so she runs back to Beachwood Bay. We get a new side to her, the side of a girl who is afraid of rejection. Afraid of hurting herself and her family.
Garrett is also afraid of hurting - himself again.
It was good to see more of these two and really learn who they are.
